How To Measure
Before ordering your Munks & Me wallpaper, it’s important to get accurate wall measurements so we can print the perfect fit just for you. Don’t worry, it’s quick, simple, and takes less than five minutes.
Step by Step Measuring Guide
Choose the Wall Type That Best Matches Your Space
Every room is unique, so we’ve created several wall examples to guide you.
Simply find the illustration that looks most like your wall, whether that’s:
- A classic straight wall
- A wall with doors or windows
- A sloped or angled ceiling
- A wall with recesses or built-ins
- A ceiling
Once you’ve selected the wall type that best represents your space, follow the simple measuring steps shown for that example. This ensures your wallpaper is printed perfectly to fit your wall.
Adding a Trimming Allowance
For all wall shapes, please add 10cm to both your exact height and width measurements. This extra allowance is essential for trimming during installation and helps ensure you’re never left with wallpaper that’s too short. If you don’t include this allowance, we can’t be held responsible for any shortages.
- Please double check your measurements before ordering!
- Accurate measurements are key to a perfect fit.

Standard (Rectangular) Wall
- Measure the full height and width of your wall at its widest and highest points.
- Exclude skirting boards and coving in your measurements.
- Add 10cm to each measurement for trimming.
- Write down your final (adjusted) height and width.

Walls with Doors, Windows, or Other Objects
- Measure the height and width of the wall as if the objects aren’t there, still using the wall’s largest points.
- Excess wallpaper will be trimmed away around the door or window during installation.
- Our wallpaper panels are always installed vertically from left to right, and patterns continue above doors and windows.
- Want to control mural placement? Use our online Customisation Tool, available on each product page, to flip the design if needed.

Walls with Wall Paneling
- Measure the height from the top of the paneling to the ceiling (add 10cm for trimming).
- If covering multiple walls, measure the height on each wall for accuracy
- Measure the width of the wall (add 10cm for trimming).
- For multiple walls, measure each wall’s width individually and add all widths together for the total width.
- Add 20cm to the combined (exact) width for trimming.
- Note: This method ensures a seamless look around corners.

Multiple Walls or Full Room Wrap
- Measure the height of each wall, then use the highest measurement as your total height (add 10cm for trimming).
- Measure each wall’s width individually and add all widths together for the total width.
- Add 20cm to the combined (exact) width for trimming.
- Note: This method ensures a seamless look around corners.

Sloped Ceiling
- Measure the maximum height and width at the widest and tallest points, even if the wall or ceiling is sloped.
- Ignore skirting boards and coving.
- Add 10cm to both height and width after measuring.

Pitched Wall
