Is the wallpaper easy to install and remove?
- Installation is easier than you think!
- Our Step-by-Step Installation Guide is included in every wallpaper roll that we send out, and is really easy to follow, even for the DIY novice!
- Removing non-woven "paste the wall" wallpaper can be relatively straightforward if done correctly.
- Here's a step-by-step guide to help you remove it, as well as some handy tips!
Peeling Method:
- Find a Loose Edge: Look for a corner or edge where the wallpaper is slightly loose
- Peel Off: Gently pull the wallpaper away from the wall. Non-woven wallpapers are designed to come off in large strips, making this method easy and effective
Using Water and Tools:
- Soak with Water: If peeling is difficult, use hot water to soak the wallpaper. This can help loosen the adhesive
- Use a Scorer Tool: Of the wallpaper doesn't peel away easily, lightly score the surface with a scorer tool to help the water penetrate the wallpaper
Removing Adhesive Residue:
- Warm Soapy Water: Use a sponge or soft cloth with warm soapy water to clean any remaining adhesive from the wall
Tips for Safe Removal:
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Non-woven wallpapers are generally easy to remove without harsh chemicals, so it's best to avoid them to prevent damage to the wall
- Be Gentle: When using tools like putty knives or scrapers, be gentle to avoid scratching the wall surface
- Proper Wall Preparation: If the wall was properly primed before installing the wallpaper, removal should be easier and less likely to cause damage
